Laura E. Davis is a writer/director and a former Michener Fellow in screenwriting at UT-Austin. Her second feature, Inheritance, starring Mark Webber, premiered at SXSW in 2017 and will be released theatrically before streaming on Amazon in late 2017.  She has worked as a story consultant for a series in development at HBO. Her pilot script, The Commons, placed on the 2017 Bitch List and was selected for inaugural series section of the 2017 IFP Film Week in NYC. Her pilot Mandeville ranked at the 2015 Austin Film Festival pilot competition. 

Her first feature was the award-winning film, Thin Air. She is a visiting professor of screenwriting and film directing at UFM in Guatemala and is the former chapter leader of Austin Film Fatales.  She lives under an avocado tree in Echo Park.
